At the recently concluded jewellery trade fairs in the US and Hong Kong, we witnessed a great deal of new ideas brought forth in our industry. A long-established diamond producer and marketer has finally decided to adopt a fresh approach to promote its brand new product: Directly targeting the group of young consumers that had been difficult to win over for the past decade. A unique pearl and gemstone laboratory from the Middle East has finally taken shape and is ready to make great strides forward. I am sure you have discovered many more new opportunities as you walked the show floor.
The message is clear. What may seem the end of the road is but a turn of the corner. To stay competitive, one has to think deep and act fast as the new game has just begun.
