This 12.11-carat fancy intense blue/IF diamond ring is the star of Christie's upcoming auction
Necklace with a 19.53-carat Burmese star ruby pendant
A rare 12.11-carat blue diamond ring is top billing Christie’s Magnificent Jewels live auction scheduled for July 9 in Hong Kong. The piece is expected to fetch HK$65 million to HK$95 million (around US$8 million to US$12 million).
The marquise brilliant-cut internally flawless diamond with a sky-blue hue is from a distinguished private collector, according to the auction house.
Another highlight of the sale is a 19.53-carat Burmese star ruby pendant necklace, which has a pre-sale estimate of HK$18 million to HK$28 million (around US$2.3 million to US$3.5 million). The necklace, created by jewellery designer Edmond Chin for Etcetera, features a Burmese ruby pendant with a phenomenal star effect at the centre of the cabochon.
Christie's Jewellery Asia Pacific Chairman Vickie Sek commented, “The success of our recent online auction, which achieved the highest total for a Hong Kong jewellery online sale, reflects robust global demand for exceptional pieces and continued demand for well-curated sales. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue into our July live sales as collectors pursue prized gems of unmatched splendour and rarity.”
