A webinar on new and traditional coloured gemstone origins, sponsored by the Centre for Gemmological Research (CGR) under Informa Markets Jewellery’s education-based programme, the Jewellery & Gem Knowledge Community, will be held on September 23.
Titled “Mining and Supply Update on Traditional and New Sources of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald,” the event will shine the spotlight on non-traditional but promising sources of gems such as Greenland for rubies, Ethiopia for sapphires and emeralds; and Afghanistan and Pakistan for rubies and emeralds.
It will feature geologist, world-renowned gemmologist and founder of RareSource Edward Boehm as guest speaker, and Dr. Miro Fei-Yeung Ng, founder and president of CGR, as moderator.
The webinar, which is taking place on Zoom at 730pm, Hong Kong time, will be conducted in Chinese and English. To join the webinar, please register here.
