Fancy blue diamond jewellery set on offer at Phillips' June 5 auction in Hong Kong
A set of fancy blue diamond earrings and pendant/ring with diamond accents is headlining Phillips’ Jewels and Jadeite Spring Auction scheduled for June 5 in Hong Kong.
The pair of earrings and the pendant/ring adorned with VVS to VS sky-blue diamonds, to be sold as separate lots, are expected to fetch HK$4 million to HK$6 million (around US$500,000 to US$780,000) each, according to the auction house.
Featuring 165 lots, the auction will also shine the spotlight on a ring set with a 10.59-carat Asscher-cut, D-colour, flawless, Type IIA diamond from the Lesotho mine in Africa, which has a pre-sale estimate of HK$5.5 million to HK$6.5 million (around US$700,000 to US$850,000).
A wide range of carefully curated diamonds, coloured gemstones and signed pieces by iconic houses including Harry Winston, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Graff will also be offered at the sale.
Worldwide Head of Jewellery at Phillips Graeme Thompson said the June 5 event follows a successful “Intersect” cross-category online auction by Phillips, with a 100 per cent sell-through rate for jewellery lots. “This demonstrated a highly resilient market for fine quality jewels in Asia,” noted Thompson.
