High jeweller Bulgari is giving its well-loved Serpenti Collection a more contemporary twist with the launch of innovative designs.
The new Serpenti Collection, which brings to mind Bulgari’s vintage designs of the 1970s, consists of Serpenti Inspirations necklace, earrings and bracelet that represent a modular element of design.
The pieces channel the scales of a snake with hexagon patterns and designs that produce a tactile, tri-dimensional look. Tourmalines were paired with pavé diamonds to alternate colour and texture, and give volume to the pieces, according to Bulgari.
“As a tribute to the emblematic symbol of renewal, Bulgari has created five extraordinary Serpenti diamond pendants in white gold necklaces that resemble scales. At the heart of each of these snakes, their sinuous body clad in pavé diamonds, is a burst of colour – rubellite, amethyst, tanzanite and aquamarine,” the jeweller said.
The choice of these four coloured gemstones was not only representative of Bulgari’s creative playfulness with colours but also of its love for extravagant volumes and stones of different cuts. The amethyst was cut in a geometric drop, which enhances its facetting, transparency and intensity of colour. The rubellite, tanzanite and aquamarine were shaped like pears, similar to a drop of water.
Bulgari also launched the Serpenti viper rings in edgier designs.
