Highly sought-after masterpieces by legendary jewellers and contemporary designers are the stars of Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite sale scheduled for October in Hong Kong.
Highlights include a rare art deco “Tutti Frutti” Cartier bracelet with a pre-sale estimate of HK$10.5 million to HK$14 million (US$1.35 million to US$1.79 million); an exquisite 8.49-carat ruby ring by JAR, which is valued at HK$13 million to HK$15 million (US$1.67 million to US$1.92 million); and an impressive emerald and diamond parure by Van Cleef & Arpels, which is expected to fetch HK$16 million to HK$24 million (US$2.05 million to US$3.07 million).
Another highlight of the sale is a very rare and important fancy deep blue diamond ring, which is estimated to sell for HK$55 million to HK$75 million (US$7.04 million to US$9.59 million). The auction house is also presenting an important jadeite bangle, with a pre-sale estimate of HK$14 million to HK$18 million (US$1.79 million to US$2.31 million).
These pieces will be presented together with a selection of rare fancy colour diamonds, exceptional gemstones and a tasteful collection of signed jewels of distinctive period designs, according to Sotheby’s.
