Bonhams is featuring rare gemstones and exceptional pieces by world-renowned jewellery houses and designers in its upcoming Rare Jewels & Jadeite sale in Hong Kong.
The top lot is a fancy colour diamond and diamond dress ring by highly sought-after designer Cindy Chao. The ring, certified by the Gemological Institute of America, features a 4.23-carat fancy pinkish-purple oval-cut diamond wrapped within a ribbon of pave-set cushion-cut diamonds. The piece is estimated to fetch HK$8 million to HK$10 million (US$1 million to US$1.3 million).
Other highlights of the sale include a 10.02-carat no-oil Colombian emerald and diamond ring with a pre-sale estimate of HK$3.4 million to HK$4 million (US$440,000 to US$510,000); a 17.33-carat sapphire and diamond ring by Bulgari, estimated at HK$2.9 million to HK$3.9 million (US$370,000 to US$500,000); and a natural pearl and diamond necklace signed by Tiffany & Co, which is expected to sell for HK$2 million to HK$3 million (US$260,000 to US$380,000).
Jewellery pieces featuring extremely rare sapphires from Kashmir, top-quality emeralds from Colombia and prized natural pearls, as well as a Burmese ruby and diamond necklace by Harry Winston and a fancy colour diamond and diamond necklace by Salavetti will also be offered at the sale.
The Bonhams Rare Jewels & Jadeite sale is scheduled for November 26 in Hong Kong.
