Shooting star earrings in 18-karat white and yellow gold with diamonds
Chanel has reinterpreted one of its most iconic motifs to create the Comète fine jewellery collection, which is scheduled to be launched in September.
According to the company, the collection took inspiration from the moon and the stars, which were ever present in founder Gabrielle Chanel’s childhood.
For their incomparable sparkle, she chose the comet and star as essential themes of her first collection, Bijoux de Diamants, which was presented in Paris in 1932. She was quoted as saying, “I wanted to cover women with constellations. Stars! Stars of all sizes.”
The latest collection features diamond-studded shooting stars in white or yellow gold or a combination of both, intricately reinterpreted as earrings, pendants, rings and bracelets.
A symbol of beauty, movement and freedom, the comet has become the emblem of Chanel Fine Jewellery and continues to inspire its new creations, the company said. Like a star-studded sky, the theme continues to inspire jewellery and watchmaking creations, and demonstrates the inexhaustible creative diversity of the jewellery house, according to Chanel.
