A one-of-a-kind jadeite and spinel necklace, aptly named “Heavenly Harmony,” took centre stage at a Christie’s auction in Hong Kong, selling for HK$73.58 million (around US$9.44 million).
Other top lots at the Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels auction were a 3.24-carat internally flawless fancy vivid blue diamond ring by Moussaieff, which fetched HK$54 million (around US$6.89 million), or around US$2.12 million a carat; and a pair of earrings, adorned with an internally flawless D-colour diamond of over 17 carats each, which sold for HK$31.32 million (around US$4.02 million).
The auction, which raised a total of HK$396.46 million (around US$50.88 million), welcomed wide international participation, with bidders from 17 countries and three continents.
